Structure
Customer → category → page → measuring point, each level uniquely named
Technology
Import tool written in Python, interface as a pure web application (HTML/JavaScript)
Operation
Runs offline in the browser – no installation, no server, no network clearance
Design
Adopts your corporate design: colours and logo out of the box
Why a navigation interface?
An airflow visualization quickly produces several hundred video sequences. As a collection of individual files on a drive this material may be complete, but it is hard to work with in an audit: anyone looking for the evidence for a particular measuring point first has to look for the file.
The Navigator turns that around. It places an interface over the video material in which you move along your facility rather than along a file tree. From the layout drawing, one click opens the corresponding sequence.
The Navigator is an integral part of every airflow visualization and every visual documentation we hand over – it is not ordered separately.
The four levels
1. Customer
The top level carries your logo and your colours. It is the entry point for all studies commissioned from us and can be extended over the years.
2. Category
Below that, the material is structured by line, study or operating state – for example "Filling line 2 – at rest" and "Filling line 2 – in operation" as separate categories.
3. Page
Each page represents a room or equipment area and carries the corresponding layout drawing. The measuring points are marked on that drawing at their actual positions.
4. Measuring point
The measuring point is the smallest unit and refers to the video sequence. Where filming was done from several perspectives, the cameras run side by side in the player, synchronised in time.
Generated automatically, not maintained by hand
An import tool assigns the material: it reads the metadata of the MP4 files, sorts the recordings by the time they were made and assigns them to the structure defined in the script. What would otherwise be days of rework is created in a single pass – and without the assignment errors that arise from manual naming.
- Automatic sorting based on MP4 metadata
- Synchronised player for several camera perspectives
- The customer's corporate design at no extra effort
- Fully usable offline – suitable for isolated networks
- Handover on a data carrier or as a folder structure for your QMS
In the audit
In an audit discussion, what counts is how quickly the evidence is on the table. Because every measuring point is uniquely named and can be found via the drawing, a specific question about airflow can be answered within seconds with the matching video – with no search through the file system.
